1971 HOLDEN MONARO LS

The Holden Monaro on display started life as an LS Coupe, it was purchased in Tasmania. In 2002, the car received a major performance rebuild at Melbourne Performance Centre. Under Steve Coad's ownership, the car has covered over 20,000 km in rallies and races across Australia, collecting numerous trophies. It became a crowd favourite during Targa Tasmania, known for its awesome sound and dramatic sideways action. Targa regulations limited wheel size, making it challenging to manage the car's immense power. Powered by a NASCAR-spec Chevrolet V8 delivering 700 horsepower, it features a Hollinger 6-speed sequential gearbox and a custom 9-inch rear end. Now in the hands of a Tasmanian owner, it’s set to return to Targa Tasmania in November 2025.
