1947 Vincent Rapide

Close-up of a vintage black motorcycle with a yellow number plate displaying '30', showing the engine, seat, and handlebars, within a showroom with other classic cars visible in the background.

Production of all Vincent Series A models ceased at the outbreak of WW2, and when the factory resumed motorcycle manufacture at the war's end it was with the all-new Series B. The Series B would establish the marque's reputation for the defiance of convention in the pursuit of engineering excellence.

After two years of ownership the bike on display was sold to Graeme White who raced it for several years before putting the engine in a Black Shadow and racing that.
