1960 Austin-Healey 3000 MK1
Building on the success of earlier Austin-Healey models, the 3000 added more power, greater creature comforts and a grand-tourer feel to the model. The vehicle on display began life as a factory left-hand drive example, destined to be sold new to California - where It has spent most of its life. It was privately imported to Tasmania in 2011, after which it underwent a restoration by Melbourne-based company "The Healey Factory", This included a conversion to right-land drive. The car retains its original matching numbers engine and gearbox. The, 3000 was powered by a 2912cc inline-six, fitted with (win SU carburettors, delivering around 130 horsepower, Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox, fitted with electric overdrive on 3 and A gears. The hardtop fitted to the car is an original, manufactured by Austin-Healey and not an aftermarket reproduction, It is painted in the original factory colour of "Colorado Red". A total of 2,284 BN7 MK1 Austin-Healeys were built.
